In addition to regular business, nominations will be made at this meeting for open board positions.
Guest speaker: Councilor Diane Gibson regarding Los Altos Park and concerns about liquor sales and security.
Los Altos Park Renovation
Councilor Diane Gibson has sponsored resolution R-21-208 and an amendment to R-21-208 which together address Los Altos Park construction funding, adequate storage of a cart or mobile vehicle for security staff, and prohibition on alcohol sales and open containers of alcohol. It also calls for funding of a study to assess the feasibility and prepare a design analysis report to extend the foot-path along the south perimeter of Los Altos Golf Course to the whole perimeter of the Course. You may or may not agree with this resolution and amendment. However, if you do agree, please contact the members of City Council and urge them to support this resolution and amendment. You can send one email to all Councilors at this link. Look for “contact all councilors” just above the photos.

Future Meeting Notices
Future meeting notices will be advertised on Facebook, NextDoor, our website, the signs at the west and east ends of Copper, and via this newsletter. In addition, due to the generosity of two individuals and Council Services, a U.S. Postal Service postcard will be mailed to all residents in early January advising of this and of the date of the February General Meeting. There are several reasons why we chose not to do flyers. Those reasons include security concerns when flyers stay on doors when people are out-of-town and safety concerns to those delivering flyers.
Future Meeting Location
We can no longer hold meetings at Hawthorne Elementary School because APS requires liability insurance which we do not have and cannot afford. When meetings are held again in person, we are considering using Mesa Verde Community Center, Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center, or the beautiful new library on Central that will likely open in February or March 2022.
