LA2050 is a community-guided initiative driving and tracking progress toward a shared vision for the future of Los Angeles. We're working to achieve this vision through local grantmaking, digital and physical engagement, and research and reporting.
We're excited to share our two newest reports, which spotlight the social impact trends and unique innovations that emerged through this year's My LA2050 Grants Challenge. We recommend these reports to all who work in and around the social impact sector – whether at a nonprofit or philanthropic organization or in an adjacent field like journalism or communications.

"The Marketing and Communications Chasm" explores what happened when we provided $1,000 stipends to each of this year's grants challenge finalists to get out the vote and what the results reveal about the social impact sector.
🔑 Key finding: Social media advertisements work! On average, the 14 finalists who used the stipends to implement paid social ads received 45 percent more votes than those who did not.

SLOANE STEPHENS | Professional Tennis Player and Founder, Sloane Stephens Foundation
My favorite Los Angeles places and spaces...
PLAY: During my off-season, I make sure to stay active by cross-training. I love going on family hikes to Runyon Canyon or Kenneth Hahn Park. The view of LA on top of the hills is stunning.
CREATE: I am obsessed with Korean BBQ and Japanese BBQ. My favorite spot is Manpuku, the garlic rice is amazing.
CONNECT: I am a huge supporter of small businesses. On Sundays, I love going to the Melrose Trading Post…. There are so many local businesses there. It's a real treat to show up and support people and their dreams.
LEARN: I like to pop in on the Sloane Stephens Foundation students in Compton. I read books to the little ones, help with studies, and give college advice to the juniors and seniors that are preparing for their next journey to elevate their education.
LIVE: When I need some time to chill out, I enjoy spending time at Pacific Palisades Park. There is a beautiful path that overlooks the bluffs. It’s a gorgeous sight at sunset.
