Above we celebrate Beth Robinson, the first lesbian appointed to the federal appeals courts - in to the 2nd Circuit! See below for exciting LGBTQ election news.

Are you bicoastal? California's redistricting is set - and out progressive Derek Marshall is lining up a campaign to oust a Republican - who's district is becoming more blue! Meet him in New York to find out more at ReBar on Tuesday, Nov 16 - before Drink & Draw begins! Register here.

Check out new Instagram Out Warrior - for important global LGBTQ news and awareness about what the far right is up to.

Talk soon,

Ashton

P.S. Did you know Russia funded many of the local protests over the past few years? Find out more about their "active measures."
Danica Roem is longest serving trans legislator
Despite the national narrative being written thanks to Republican efforts in Virginia, 82 Victory Fund-endorsed LGBTQ candidates won elections across the US on Tuesday (while only 44 lost) - which means the US will soon have over 1,000 LGBTQ elected officials. Ohio has its first trans official. Pennsylvania elected the first non-binary person to a judicial positionVirginia re-elected Danica Roem for a 3rd time! And New York City now has 6 out council members. Want to get moving for next year? I've also added the flyer below for a fundraiser at Rebar Nov 16!
Do you travel to Europe, <<First Name>>? Parts are under threat! In Bulgaria, the far-right Presidential candidate was arrested for physically attacking an LGBTQ center in Sofia (see the attack here). And in Poland protests erupted around a bill that would ban Pride (and effectively peaceful assembly for queer people) - they certainly invented an enemy. In January Rémy Bonny will visit - and I need your support! He looks at the shadowy ties between Russia, and US groups, and very anti-LGBTQ forces Europe with Forbidden Colours.

1 in 443 have died of COVID in the US - as we are officially at 751,349 deaths (still the most in any one country). I plan to get my Moderna booster shot on Monday; as research suggests, I am mixing since previously I had J&J -- do you have an appointment? This data on the breakthrough cases will make you want to! Cases are surging Europe - especially in Germany - and also in Colorado (where no indoor mask mandates exist) as well as in Native communities, as they reopen to unvaxxed tourists.

Some hopeful news from Afghanistan as 29 LGBT refugees landed in London - but the Taliban's "human rights" will not include gay rights - and apparently has a kill list of LGBTQ people.

Hackers released the profile details of users of Atraf, an Israeli queer dating app; Google & Telegram are helping to block access to the data.

Educators in
India are facing right-wing backlash for curriculum that address trans and gender non-conforming people.

Canada now apparently has the Queerest Cabinet ever.

It's book-burning times, as the Texas governor is "investigating books" on race, LGBTQ issues, and "pornographic material," a Des Moines a school district is pulling LGBTQ books from shelves, and in Wyoming at least teachers didn't face prison time!

In a win for trans inclusion, San Diego is removing references to "he" and "she" in city laws and policies.

A trans teen is suing Tennessee for its trans sports ban.
