Dear Patron,

A warm welcome to new members of The LSP Society, whether you've migrated from Patreon or started supporting The Lifeboat Station Project for the first time. It really is excellent to have you on board.

There are two imminent events on the horizon, one's on Tuesday night in 2D and the other's on Wednesday night in 3D!

TUESDAY: ONLINE TALK

The York Consortium for Conservation and Craftsmanship have invited me to give an online presentation this coming Tuesday 9th November at 7pm.

I will talk about what it takes to make such a huge, historic project. I’ll share some of the stories along the way and describe how I use wet collodion photography as an essential part of the project, enabling the RNLI lifeboat volunteers to feel involved when visiting the stations as well as engaging you — my ever-growing band of online supporters!

All are welcome. Register via Zoom free-of-charge here:

WEDNESDAY: LIVE EDINBURGH BLETHER

On Wednesday, I'm hopping on a train to Edinburgh for a live post-screening blether at the Edinburgh Filmhouse with Shona Thomson (Producer/Director) and Rhona Meikle (North Berwick RNLI crew, pictured on the right in the plate above).

Take a look at the film’s dedicated website for full details of the cinema tour and/or book tickets for the Edinburgh Filmhouse screening via the button below:

WINTER OF DELIGHTS

It's been such a full-on few weeks that my feet have barely touched the ground.

Looking ahead, I've also been booked by The Royal Photographic Society to give an online talk on 10th February 2022. Full details are on the Events page.

Once I come back from Edinburgh on Thursday, I'll finally be able to scan the plates I made in Scotland with Howie and Sandra as well as trawl through the hours of audio recordings.

It's certainly set to be a winter of delights!

As ever, I'll look forward to reading your comments wherever they may land. If you'd like to get in touch, simply reply to this email or send me a direct message via the app.

Keep on keepin' on,

Jack Lowe

Creator of The Lifeboat Station Project
I can't wait to share the stories from my time with Howie and Sandra, not least the audio recordings and glass plate I made of Howie with his Harley, a beautiful machine that had a vital role to play during his time as a lifeboat volunteer. Stay tuned over the winter!
