Dear Members:
We are continuing our successful partnership with Central Coast RBS for ABC Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training class. The class will be held in a large well-ventilated indoor space with plenty of room to physically distance as needed.
This course will feature the new ABC approved AB1221 mandated RBS training curriculum. All alcohol servers and managers (over 1,000,000 statewide) MUST be certified under the new law by July 1,2022 by registering as an alcohol server or manager with the ABC, completing the new course from an approved provider and passing the new online standardized ABC certifying exam within 30 days of taking the course.
There is no longer a separate supervisor/manager course. Under the new law, all employees and supervisors/managers attend the same course.
The new RBS course will be held on Tuesday, November 23rd at 1pm-5pm, hosted at Brick Barn Wine Estate. The cost to membership is $50 per employee.

This Central Coast RBS ABC approved AB1221 mandated Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training course is tailored for employees and managers involved in the sale or service of alcohol in wineries and tasting rooms. The course covers all the new mandated course topics while focusing on the everyday issues tasting room employees and managers face including the identification of fake ID's and the fraudulent use of real ID's by minors, strategies for preventing guests from becoming overly intoxicated and refusing service to those that are. The in-person course is four hours in duration and is taught by a Santa Barbara County resident and wine lover with 25 years of law enforcement experience including numerous undercover ABC operations. Electronic certification will be issued by ABC upon successful completion of the course and a passing grade on the standardized ABC online exam within 30 days of course completion.
