A Special Thank You

Thank you to our Southside Family for all your help and attendance at our Annual Fireworks Display, Bonfire Night at Sunbeam Mission. Over 200 members of our Community had a lovely time. Thank you!

Words of Encouragement

This week's words of encouragement are taken from 1 Thessalonians 5:11

They remind us to continue to comfort as well as lift each other up daily.

"Therefore comfort each other and edify one another,
just as you also are doing."

Be encouraged.

What is Communion?

Communion or the ‘Lord’s Supper’ is an act of worship on the first Sunday of each month that involves us breaking and eating bread and drinking non-alcoholic wine in obedience to the command of Jesus Christ.

Communion reminds us of the last supper that Jesus shared with his disciples before his suffering and death.

During Communion, we remember the work of Christ and reflect on its significance, knowing that Jesus is still working in and through us and look forward to when we will share a meal with Jesus upon his return.

Scripture References: Matthew 26:17-29, Mark 14:12-25, Luke 22:7-38, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

TUESDAY PRAYERS VIA ZOOM

Thanks for joining us for Prayers each week.
Our next weekly prayers will be on Tuesday 9 November at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.

We take 30 minutes out of our busy week to pray for the needs of our church, our congregation, our community and the world.

How we pray together

We know that you want to join us to pray but may not be able to make it on the same day each week due to work, family and other commitments. We will therefore alternate having prayers on a Thursday or Tuesday at 7:30 pm. We will have the same day for 2 weeks in a row then alternate.

At the meeting, everyone is welcome to participate or simply pray quietly in your own heart. Please remember that there is no expectation to pray out loud.

The bible tells us to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonian 5:16-18).
