I did it again, I shared a bad zoom registration link. I think I figured out what is happening, and I'm really sorry! I check these things, but obviously not often enough. Hopefully now that I know what happens when I cut and paste the zoom link to my newsletters it won't happen again (it adds extra characters at the beginning, I don't know why, but I will look for this next time).

Here's the link for Tuesday (also corrected below). I hope you'll join us!

Here is the newsletter from this morning, with the link below corrected too (but it took two tries!)

Dear friends,

It's another beautiful fall day, and I'll go knock on some doors this afternoon. Last week lots of people were home, and I had great conversations with constituents about our schools, bitcoin, and how voter ID is an obstacle to voting (I agree, and also if you or someone you know needs help navigating your way to a state ID or other valid ID, I will happily help figure it out).

I *love* talking with constituents, and hearing what's important. I am going to have my second zoom community meeting on Tuesday Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. - Zoom Registration Link Here.  Two months ago, constituents gave me homework to consider legislation to decarbonize homes and buildings and ranked choice voting. I've had multiple interesting and productive conversations with local and national advocates, and I'm not sure what legislation might come from these conversations, but it's exciting and important work. I'm looking forward to finding out what great ideas come out of our community meeting on Tuesday.

If no one comes with their own ideas to share on Tuesday, I'll talk about what the just-passed infrastructure bill means for Rhode Island. It's exciting! Yup, money for our roads and bridges. Also, for public transportation! Also, for broadband infrastructure! Also, finally, we can replace those lead pipes! This is great news!!!

As always, please follow me on TwitterFacebook or Instagram, or write to me at info@rebeccakislak.com. You can also call or text me at 401-400-2338. I look forward to hearing from you!

Providence Streets Coalition Survey

Some of you may have heard about a plan to test out a protected bike lane/trail on Hope Street this coming spring. As a part of the planning process, the Providence Streets Coalition has a survey out, which I hope you'll take a few minutes to complete the survey here.     Also, sharing some of my current reading about urban bike trails and how they are neutral or positive for businesses along the trail, you can read more here, and here. Here is one possible rendering of what an urban bike trail on Hope Street might look like. What do you think?

Community Resources for COVID-19

General Information

Vaccine Information Kids 5 and older are able to get vaccinated! The pictures of your kids getting vaccinated are thrilling and amazing and beautiful. Boosters are available now for lots of us who are eligible! 90% of adults in RI are vaccinated! I hope we get above 90% of everyone soon. That's the good news.  Here is the main RI Department of Health information page for vaccination. Sign up here!

The COVID-19 hotline is 401-222-8022 for any COVID-related questions.

Sign up for testing (whether you have symptoms or not) at portal.ri.gov It's really easy and often same day appointments are available. It's good to get tested if you have symptoms. Even though I have been vaccinated, my allergies have been awful. I get tested from time to time just to be sure it isn't a COVID breakthrough case.

Here is the Department of Health COVID Data Hub.
And here is the WPRI summary of COVID data with helpful and interesting charts.

Providence has a website with current COVID-19 information here: http://www.providenceri.gov/pema/faqs-covid-19/
