YOUth&I launch event and webinars

IHRA is proud to auspice YOUth&I, an Australian-based intersex youth anthology.

YOUth&I seeks to create a space for young intersex people to share their stories in their own words and not be taken out of context or rewritten by endosex (non-intersex) people. Welcoming contributions from around the world, and in languages other than English, YOUth&I provides space to educate the people we live with and to connect with others including those who, even if they don’t know the word intersex, might recognise some of these stories and experiences within themselves.

The folks behind YOUth&I are holding a free webinar tonight at 6pm AEDT, with some spaces still available. Join us if you can!

Issue 2 of YOUth&I will launch via Zoom on Thursday 2 December 2021.

Health and wellbeing

We are pleased to announce publication of our new introduction to the health and wellbeing of people with innate variations of sex characteristics, for general practitioners and other doctors.

This resource was developed for a collaboration with General Practice Supervisors Australia and Dr Ruth McNair AM and, like all our resources, it is reviewed by a subcommittee of our staff and board, including a bioethicist, surgeon, health law expert and education expert.

The page also contains summary information on additional Australian intersex-specific healthcare resources.

Find and share the resource at https://ihra.org/au/health
A dazzling array of actions and resource launches took place on and around Intersex Awareness Day on 26 October, including resources for educators and general practitioners. Find out more
Thanks for reading our newsletter. Please feel free to share it with friends and colleagues. Until next time
