Fancy bagging yourself a gong at 2022's Community Volunteer Awards? We're here to help you find the perfect volunteering opportunity to enable you to fulfill your potential and support the great work of organisations in our communities.
Our Tuesday volunteering drop-in is back. Please feel free to come and join us between 10am and 12.30pm at the Boulevard Centre for a chat and a brew.
The next CVS Network Meeting will be held on Thursday 25th November from 9.30am in the Conference Room at the Boulevard Centre. You can download an agenda here.

Our colleagues at Spring North have developed a Community Ambassadors Programme, which aims to bring people together who want to make a positive change for the wider community living in BwD.

What they offer

► Increase your knowledge on BwD heritage and its diverse communities.
► Learn how to develop social action projects to create harmony and well-being for our residents.
► Gain confidence, negotiation and leadership skills whilst building new friendships.
► Enhance your CV and increase employment/venture opportunities with this accredited course.
► Increase your network with people from education, health, business, and community sectors.
► Have fun cooking dishes from around the world, food box with ingredients provided.
► £100 funding to start your social action project including ongoing support for funding streams.
► Take part in a free DNA ancestry test kit to trace your heritage.

All this for only 2 hours of your time a week.

This is a ten-week programme with two weeks independent learning between January and March next year. Sessions will be held in the evenings from 6 to 8 pm.

Do you have a bike? Does it need a bit of tuning to get it ready for action? Fettle Bike Repairs are here to help. Based at The Bureau, they are running basic repair and maintenance sessions on Saturday 13th & Wednesday 17th November. Please book here if you'd like to attend.
Age UK BwD are seeking to recruit a Befriending Services Co-ordinator and an Active Ageing Project Worker. Deadline for applications is 9am on Tuesday 16th November.

Beacon Counselling are holding a webinar entitled Addressing Gambling Harms across Lancashire and Cumbria on Wednesday 17th November.
Selnet are seeking a Scheme Manager for their Essential Household Goods & Support Scheme. Deadline for applicants is 12 noon on Wednesday 17th November.
The Lancashire Forum of Faiths are hosting a Common Good session on Zoom on Wednesday 17th November. The discussion, to be facilitated by Nick Briggs and involving smaller break out rooms, will be based around three questions: -
1) How do we define ‘good’ and the ‘good society'?
2) How do our values influence what we bring to the public sphere?
3) How do we understand the values of other players in the public sphere?
► Spring North and We Are Momentum still have places available at their information session on Thursday 18th November. The session starts at 11am on Microsoft Teams, and will focus on the Leadership and Project Management Training programme. Please drop them an e-mail if you'd like to join.
Six members of AA will be joining Garry Scott on BBC Radio Lancashire on Thursday 18th November. Tune in between 7 and 10pm to hear their valuable insights and learn how AA helps people to grow beyond their addictions.
CB Partners' Pre-Black Friday Jumble Sale is taking place on Friday 19th November. There will be lots and lots of bargains with almost everything brand new with tags! The entrance to this will be from the door next to the old SAMS entrance by Boots Pharmacy.
 The Rainbow Youth Centre are hosting a Games Night on Saturday 20th November between 6 & 9pm at their exclusive LGBTQ+ Youth Centre.

Blackburn Foodbank are seeking a new Benefits Adviser. Deadline is 12 noon on Monday 22nd November.
They are also seeking donations in line with their "Reverse Advent Calendar."

Lancashire LGBT's next LGBT+ Mental Health Hour will take place on Thursday 25th November. As it's the Trans Day of Remembrance, the focus will be on mental health within the Trans community, featuring Dr. Jay McNeil, a Clinical Psychologist and trans rights advocate.
 The Billy Project's Hygiene Bank have cleaning products to dish out to participants & anyone else in need. They have general/bathroom/kitchen cleaning products, sanitary items, hand sanitizers & hand washes.
