Susan Vermeer  is currently active at the ODISSEI Media Content Analysis Lab. She works on strengthening computational methods within the social sciences, as well as making it more accessible. Vermeer will defend her PhD at the University of Amsterdam in the near future. The past years, Vermeer worked as a doctoral candidate at ASCoR (the Amsterdam School of Communication) at the programme of Political Communication and Journalism. Her research surrounds the use of news in the digital worlds, and the role of online news websites, algorithms and social media. After she finished her doctoral research, Vermeer started as a doctoral researcher at ASCoR.

Annelien Van Remoortere works at the ODISSEI Media Content Analysis Lab and has been working as a doctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam (ASCoR) since September. She recently obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Antwerpen, where she previously studied for her master’s degree in Political Communication. Her research interests encompass the influence of media on the political success of politicians, the use of microtargeting during political campaigns and automated content analysis.
