Join Us For a Call With Your Peers

NFPA began hosting conference calls with instructors to help us all stay connected to each other and share best practices. The next call will be held on December 3rd at 10 am CST on Zoom. You can expect a casual conversation where everyone is welcome to discuss the fluid power coursework, how to incorporate fluid power instruction, COVID-19 campus restrictions and impact on teaching, ask for feedback from your peers, and/or share any updates or needs related to NFPA’s Workforce Programs. Contact Stephanie Scaccianoce for the link to join.

Vehicle Challenge Capstone Project Expands, 23 Universities Participating

The NFPA Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge is actively working to increase the number of university students educated in fluid power and connect them with our members for career opportunities. With this purpose in mind, NFPA has more than tripled the size of the first annual NFPA Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge and created additional connection opportunities for participating schools.

NFPA Can Help Source Industry Speakers for Class Presentations

Inviting industry representatives to speak during class time is a great way to engage students and help them learn about real world applications, what careers are available, what they pay and which markets they serve. Plus, it can also make the career search easier for emerging engineers by connecting them directly with eager employers. We will connect universities with NFPA members for either in-person or virtual classroom presentations. Contact Mary Pluta to get started.

NFPA Will Fund Hands-On Projects at Your University

NFPA is encouraging university partners to launch an NFPA-supported Fluid Power Club for students at their schools. The goal is to encourage interest and participation in fluid power technologies and to connect students to industry professionals. NFPA will provide each club with a $2,000 stipend to support club activities and hands-on projects. For questions, contact Stephanie Scaccianoce.
