A Note from the Directors' Desks

Dear Write On Family,

The season for giving thanks is upon us, and all of us at Write On have so much to be grateful for. 2021 has been a year of growth for our blossoming organization, and with 2022 coming quickly over the horizon, there isn’t any time to waste.

What began as a dream - to establish a rich and far-reaching literary tradition in our community - is an ever-growing reality. We aren’t afraid to say we have high expectations for the year ahead, and we’re excited to tell you why.

We spent 2021 listening to all of the wonderful people who are helping us flourish!

What Conferences do our members want to attend? What Master Classes do they want to enroll in? How can the Write On team help make planning a trip to Door County headache-free? These questions highlight the driving force behind our Big Announcement coming on November 15: how we can make writing as enjoyable and accessible to our diverse community as possible.

We hope you're as excited about 2022 as we are. As always, thank you for your support. We hope you'll stop by the Writing Center and say hello.

Warmly,

Sponsor Literacy in Our Community

Reading and writing are some of humankind's oldest intellectual tools - and for good reason. At Write On, Door County, we believe communicating the value of these tools to future generations is more important now than ever before.

In 2021, donations of:
  • $30 supported free registrations for writing classes at our Center.
  • $70 sponsored memberships to families in our community.
  • $150 gave more children the opportunity to participate in our Kids WOW Summer Camp - allowing more young minds to learn the powers of writing.
  • $500 provided local K-12 classrooms with regularly occurring writing programs, featuring visiting artists from around the world.
  • $2500 donations brought celebrated and distinguished writers to our nationally recognized residency on Juddville Road.

Every dollar donated to our Annual Fund goes toward financing programs that directly benefit our community.

Keep an eye on your mailbox over the days to come. Before too long, you'll find a message from Write On, hand-prepared by one of our volunteers, staff, or board members. From all of us at Write On, Door County, thank you for continually supporting educational programs in our communities.
