This is the first day of the critical COP26 World Leaders Summit, when governments, civil society, businesses, and international organisations will set out their shared ambition for urgent action that will keep the planet within 1.5 degrees of heating, protecting people and nature from the catastrophic impacts of the climate crisis.

Updates for Registered Attendees
If you are coming to COP26, you need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test taken and reported online on the same day that you plan to attend.

16th UN Conference of Youth Successfully Concludes
The 16th UN Conference of Youth (COY16) in Glasgow concluded yesterday, having served as the official space for capacity building for young climate leaders ahead of COP26.

Throughout the YOUNGO-led event, young climate leaders engaged in workshops, a green jobs fair and training sessions, joined by UK Government officials, including COP President, Alok Sharma.

COY16 culminated in a Global Youth Position Statement, setting out a suite of priorities ranging from wildlife and conservation through to climate finance and markets.

World Leaders Summit - Day 2 
2 November
As over 100 Heads of State and Government gather to set the stage for the detailed negotiations that will unfold in the coming days, key themes - from reducing emissions and restoring vital habitats, to adapting to extreme weather events and increasing the provision of support to developing countries - will be on the agenda. This Tuesday, all nations expect their representatives to work together to create a decisive and just solution to the greatest threat humanity has ever faced.
