Hello and welcome to the November 2 edition of the Syllabus newsletter.
We're jazzed to be here in your inbox.
This week's syllabus is Surviving Apocalypse (Having a First Baby) by Amy Bornman.

There's no shortage of advice for new parents. But as Amy attests, no amount of preparation can truly equip you for the earth-shattering experience of having a baby. Her syllabus is a poetic assemblage of texts, objects, actions, and feelings intended to ease this monumental transition. Recommendations range from the lyrical and profound (Louise Erdrich, Adrienne Rich), to the functional and everyday (airpods, tank tops). The patience and care towards oneself and others that the syllabus details is advice we are all the better for, parents or not.
Zach Huelsing and Jon Lehman of the Rural Indexing Project explore architecture and place.
Vernon, Florida (Errol Morris, 1981)

Julia recommends the n+1 bookmatch quiz, Beyond Baroque's many book lists, and the Walk of Life project.
