November events with Wyoming Valley CUUPS

Samhain time is passing and the Wheel of the Year brings us now to winter. For many of us, it's the season of study, rest, and inward focus. Unfortunately, it's also the season where we can find the cooler temperatures and lack of daylight challenging. At this time, cultivating connection to like minds and hearts is more important than ever.

We are continuing to carry the torch.  Wonderful teachers continue to offer incredible programming.  We are staying connected and coming together to honor the Gods, Ancestors, and Wheel of the Year.

Tonight at 7PM EST! We are having a next class on Tarot and Tree of life together. They are a wonderful way to add some depth to your tarot readings.

Please, join us.  We are better together.  If you have an internet connection, or even just a phone, you can stay connected to community.  If you scroll down, you will see a (rather large) list of different offerings including workshops on Feather Reading Divination and the Heathen concepts of Orlog, Wyrd and Luck!

An up-to-date listing of events is always available at www.wyomingvalleycuups.com, our Google Calendar as well as on the Events section of our Facebook page

Hope to see you soon!

The Qabalah can be a wonderful way to add depth to your readings.

Each year, Wyoming Valley CUUPS  honor our Veterans and Warriors in a ritual blessing lead by Veteran Members of our Community. One of two in-person gatherings we will have in November, this ritual is loved by many within our WVCUUPS Community.

Throughout human history, a small number of brave souls have chosen the path of the Warrior. These rare people choose to serve their communities through sacrifice. They give up years of their lives, relationships, career opportunities, and a certain innocence that can never be regained once lost. And they offer to sacrifice something else – their very bodies and lives. These are people willing to serve through blood. Warriors offer to give up their one wild, precious life to serve their people. They return to us changed, injured or sometimes not at all. We will gather to honor the Warriors, to hold them high and to formally give thanks for the gift they offer our people.

Doors open at 6pm. Ritual starts at 6:15pm.

Last Month's meeting notes
Our Death Doula, Alexandra Palmer, who hosts our monthly death discussion is doing a death meditation with our CUUPS community on November 14th at 7PM EST via Zoom!
“Death Meditation is a practice in dying that also connects you more deeply to life. In this event you will be gently guided through an imagining of your final hours, have opportunities to acknowledge and address anything that may not yet feel complete and given space to allow for the bigger picture of what wants to happen.

A few reasons to try a death meditation:
  1. Contemplating death actually connects you to that force of life that lights you up … but may have gotten tucked away somewhere inside you.
  2. Priorities come into clear focus.
  3. You’ve watched someone aging, possibly yourself. You’ve seen how ungraceful and upending it can be, because the nature of living and dying – human nature – is not always graceful.
For most of us, it takes practice to cultivate a mind that can experience peace when things stop working the way they once did, peace in the face of deteriorating, in the face of saying goodbye to everyone and everything that has ever mattered to you, including your own existence.
Be prepared with a comfortable spot to lay down, with covers and a pillow. Have a notebook and pen handy as you will have the option to write down things you’d like to remember.”

Join Wyoming Valley CUUPS for a class on Feather Readings with WVCUUPS member Raven Redfeather. Have you ever seen a random feather lying on the ground and felt drawn to it? Did you pick it up? Look at it? Did you leave it on the ground and think about it for a while? Many times, when someone starts out on a nature-based spiritual path they will feel strong pulls to feathers, stones and plants. Through these experiences Raven Redfeather has learned and developed her method for feather reading and was surprised to find that few people in the world practice feather reading. Despite feathers having strong elemental connections (air) and a strong meaning in numerous cultures around the world, feather reading is nearly unheard of.

What is feather reading?
In short, feather reading is a form of augury divination based upon feathers. Unlike other forms of avian augury, a feather reading does not rely on live animals or watching their actions. Reading a feather requires only the feather and the reader. Feather readings tend to differ from other forms of avian augury in that the readings most often are about the person whom found the feather and their situation oppose to coming weather, crop growth or even seismic activity which augury tends to read.

Come enjoy the beauty and peace of the Labyrinth by the light of the Full moon!

The labyrinth will be illuminated from 7pm-8:30pm. Everyone is welcome. During the cooler months, we take our Labyrinth practice indoors. The first half hour will be a quiet walk, the remainder drumming, so feel free to bring hand drums and other percussion instruments of choice. If you haven't walked a Labyrinth before, there is no ceremony or ritual. A Labyrinth Walk is safe, open Sacred Space for personal exploration. Please plan to arrive by 8:00pm to allow enough time for your walk.

We also have WVCUUPS Members offering (free of course) Tarot and Oracle card readings.

Join us for Magick and connection in our online Full Moon ritual! Many of us started out as solitary practitioners on our Pagan and Witch paths. To those of us introverts, it can be quite a leap to seek out other like-minded groups. Online rituals can offer the best of both worlds to those who are more comfortable casting alone. You can turn off a video feed if you are more comfortable, set up your space and connect while being led in ritual simultaneously.

In Pagan practices, the Full Moon means many things. Abundance, spirituality, peak psychic ability, fertility, a good time for Magick, The Mystery. Something about that silvery light sets the subconscious to dreaming. Things are possible by moonlight that are not in the revealing light of day. We can be more truly ourselves, casting off some of the masks we layer on in order to fit in during our daytime lives. Our truths are easier to manage in moonlight. We’re more willing to step into Mystery, to allow dreams, and to listen to what our inner voice has to say.

Join members of the Wyoming Valley CUUPS community for an informal hangout and check-in.
The Witching Hour is a social time. Everyone should have their favorite beverage at the ready. There are no rules about this beverage. ALL beverages are equally welcome.

This event does not have a structure per se. You are invited to attend as your true self, in the company of other Pagans. You may wear a hat, or not. You may paint your face, or not. Do you have a new tattoo? You can show us if you'd like! Did you just get a new item for your altar that is the absolute BEST THING YOU'VE EVER SEEN? Why yes, we would love to see that. Depending on the number of attendees, breakout rooms may be employed. See you there!

The Wyoming Valley CUUPS is excited to host Alexandra Palmer for our monthly Death Salon.

A Death Salon is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session. You may be holding old grief and this may be stirred during conversations in your group. Every effort is made to ensure it is a safe space, but it is essentially our community coming together in group(s) to talk and to listen.
As a participant, we ask that you come with the intention to be accepting of others and to listen actively, with no need to ‘fix’ anything or give advice. Often just telling your story/sharing your fears or experiences can reveal what may feel like a ‘solution’, simply as a result of the telling. You’ll be welcome to speak if you want to, in the group. Each person’s story is their own ~ stories don’t need to link together.

Join Chris of Elk Ridge Kindred and members of Wyoming Valley CUUPS on Monday, November 29th, at 7 PM EST for a workshop on the Heathen concepts of Orlog, Wyrd and Luck.

We are constantly building our own fate. Who we associate with and where we come from all come into play when building our metaphysical store of energy. Our decisions open and close possibilities. Our friendships influence the path we're on. What's the best way to build a strong energetic framework?
Orlog, Wyrd, and Luck are important parts of Heathen spirituality. This workshop will focus on these three concepts, how they are connected, and how to positively increase their influences in your life and the lives of people you choose to spend your time with.
