DIRECTIONS PLEASE
We are officially coming to a place of new direction. It continues to look less and less likely that Israel will ever open up for a future opportunity to serve. There is a hope on our part, but the reality of the situation is that things are progressing in a direction contrary to our comfort levels. We are praying for wisdom and direction for the future and asking the Lord to open new opportunities for full-time ministry. We do covet your prayers!
RECEIVED THE CROWN OF GLORY!
My father, Rev. Lowell Estes Kennedy, graduated to his glorious permanent home on October 5, 2021, joining his beloved wife, Norma, and son, Charles Allen.
My father, Lowell, was a missionary at heart who served in Nigeria from 1959 - 1971 as a Bible Translator and Pastor. When the Biafra War broke out in Nigeria, our young family returned to the US where he served as a Missouri Lutheran Synod Pastor in Colorado. His love for missionary work still tugged at his heart and moved our family to Missouri where he taught aspiring missionaries at Christian Outreach School of Ministries (where Les attended Bible school), and continued the journey into unfamiliar territories.
From Nigeria to the US, to South America (Columbia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica), and then back to Nigeria, for roughly 50 years of Missionary service, Lowell served full of passion. He was always on the go and walked FAST everywhere. I remember as his daughter wanting to go with him everywhere. At that time I couldn't, but now I have had the privilege to walk in dad's footsteps with Les, who also walks FAST, and I can barely keep up with him.
Les and I were able to visit dad just after he returned home from the Hospital. My father wanted to be home at the time of his passing. He was not responsive, but we were able to administer communion, share the legacy he left behind, and released him into glory to receive his crown.
Dad left us a tremendous legacy and passed the baton onto the next generation of serving in world missions; the greatest commission of all, spreading the hope of glory that is for everyone.
What a joy it is to know that some day very soon, we will be joining him in glory as the Bride of Christ is caught up, in a twinkling of an eye.
