The sun is shining and the skies are clear so far.  So we are open this week, through Friday November 5.  Last Checkout is 4 pm.  We are starting to tuck the plants away for the winter, but our signage is still up and plants are available.

It is not too late to plant trees or shrubs and we still have a great selection!  Blueberries are just getting their fall color, and we still have a few Rhododendron maximum and Mountain Laurel!  Trees and shrubs do most of their root growth in the fall (up to 80%!)  so give them a head start on next year by planting today.

Fall is for planting!

Some native species for winter interest:
(left to right) Cornus sericea, red-twig dogwood; Betula nigra, river birch; Ilex verticillata, winterberry holly; Juniperus virginiana ‘Grey Owl’, ‘Grey Owl’ juniper

Plants are going dormant,  but there is no end to the beauty your garden can provide! Our deciduous trees are sporting brilliant fall foliage, while asters and goldenrods still abound in the field. But, with winter approaching, lets think ahead to what’s coming next! Native plants can provide four seasons of interest, with beauty to admire even in the most dreaded part of winter.

Click on the image above to take a look at some of our favorite native plants for winter interest that we have available now!

NEW!!!  "Plant it for the Planet" garden signs available in two color combos for $19.99 each. These 8"x12" aluminum signs come with pre-drilled holes and can be placed on a post, fence, building or even a tree. They make a great compliment to a book or an Edge of the Woods gift card this holiday season!
