COP26 prayers
Bishops Ruth and Will led a dawn and dusk prayer meeting in Sussex on the first day of the COP26 Conference in Glasgow. The bishops led prayers, at dawn in Horsham and at dusk at Firle beacon, and welcomed supporters amid heavy wind and rain.
Bishop Will, who holds the remit for environmental issues in the diocese said: "We have a clear obligation as stewards of the earth and its resources that calls us to be responsible in caring for our common home the earth.

Daily podcast to replace postponed pilgrimage
The pilgrimage to the Holy Land, due to be led by Bishop Martin at the end of this month has had to be postponed due to current travel limitations affecting travellers to the Holy Land. However, Bishop Martin is keen to bring the featured pilgrim sites to life with a daily podcast which will include a reading and a reflection. These will be posted daily on the diocesan website between 29 November -6 December forming an online Advent Holy Land pilgrimage which everyone can share in.

We shall remember them
Remembrance Sunday this year falls on 14th November when churches across Sussex will poignantly observe periods of silence during special services and commemorations as we once again remember those who gave their lives in different types of conflict. Churches get cash boost
Two churches in the diocese are among 142 historic sites across England receiving grants worth £35 million thanks to the government’s Culture Recovery Fund.
St Mary Kemp Town, Brighton and Christ Church, St Leonard’s will receive funds awarded by Historic Englandfrom the second round of the Heritage Stimulus Fund, bolstering local economies and supporting jobs across the country.

Elections to Diocesan Committees - nominations open.
Please consider standing for election as a member of one of the diocesan councils and committees, including the Bishop’s Council whose members are automatically trustees of the key governing body of Chichester diocese - the Chichester Diocesan Fund and Board of Finance. We are keen to see diverse representation on these bodies.

Church employment
Do you employ anyone in your church? The national minimum wage increase for those aged 23+ is now £9.50/hr. This equates to a FTE of £19,760.
Any staff member employed by your PCC – Regardless of whether they are full time, part time, casual or even an apprentice/intern - they are entitled to the new rate.
