Note From The Superintendent

Dear Southern Boone School District Family,

Construction is rolling right along at the middle school! Over the next few weeks, you will see lots of activity with roofers. Our masons are working hard on constructing block and brick walls on the back end of the new addition. Steel and iron should be delivered next week. I am really excited about the project's progress, and hopeful we do not experience any additional delays due to supply shortages.

Meanwhile, I had the pleasure of presenting at last week's MU Extension Workforce Summit. The meeting told the story of the partnership with Ranken Technical College, Southern Boone School District, the City of Ashland, and Mid-Mo Regional and Planning. The meeting had a great turnout, and included business and industry leaders, chambers of commerce, and economic development councils within the central Missouri region.  The feedback from the presentation has been great, and truly showcased our community in a very positive light.

Finally, the board of education will be meeting on Monday, November 8th at 5:30 p.m. at the central office for a study session to discuss and review the district's Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Service Plan. The plan can be reviewed HERE. The board agenda can be reviewed HERE.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff in the school district.

Together We Can!

Respectfully,

Christopher Felmlee
Superintendent of Schools
