Celebrating a Call to Ministry

Mike and Molly had the privilege to stop by Whitewater Valley Presbytery's quarterly assembly today to share news from camp and witness the ordination examination of one of our own: Pyoca alumna Sammie Smith.

Sammie began discerning her call to ministry at Pyoca while on summer staff. She later went on to serve as a
Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) in Asheville, NC, followed by three years studying at Vanderbilt Divinity School to earn her Master of Divinity. Sammie is currently serving as a staff chaplain at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

We are thrilled to announce that we will host Sammie's ordination at Pyoca. We welcome our camp community to join us for the service of ordination, either in-person or virtually. More information to come.

Christmas Canteen

Christmas Canteen, Pyoca's online store, is now open! Grab your favorite camp gear just in time for the holidays: NEW long sleeve shirts, 2021 camp tees, mugs, and more.

Upcoming Programs

Fall Youth Retreat: Nov. 19th - 21st

We are just a few weeks away from our annual Fall Youth Retreat, open to youth in grades 7 - 12. Join us this fall to reconnect with friends from camp and make new ones from all around our great state! Come explore, grow, rest, and play during one of the most beautiful seasons at Pyoca.
This year's retreat theme is Faith and Mental Health, and we are so excited to welcome our keynote speaker Rev. Wes Kendall, and welcome back Jeff Moles as our worship leader.

In addition to great worship and fellowship, we are looking forward to our Camp Carnival and Fall Fest on Saturday, Nov. 20th -- with carnival games and inflatable obstacle courses in the afternoon, plus a line dancing hoedown with s'mores and wagon rides in the evening.

The challenging race course, coupled with Pyoca's warm hospitality, makes for a great weekend when you add a meal and lodging package to your registration.

How You Can Support Camp: Pass It On

Pass It On. Like the beloved campfire song, we know that in order to pass on the magic of camp to the next generation, we need the support of friends of camp and previous generations who have been transformed by this ministry.

Donate
There are a number of ways to support our ministry, including: donations to our Scholarship and Annual Funds, volunteer opportunities, in-kind gifts through our Amazon Wish List, and more.
