hello.
Avivo and the vaccine mandate – what does it mean for you?

In accordance with the recent government mandate for the COVID-19 vaccination in our industry and Avivo’s commitment to health and safety of all colleagues and customers, Avivo requires all colleagues to receive the COVID-19 vaccination to maintain employment with Avivo.

The mandate does not apply to customers unless you are employed or are engaged in some work for Avivo.

On 20 October 2021, the West Australian Government announced a mandate requiring all people who work in the health and community sector to have the COVID-19 vaccination, unless medically exempt. The mandate comes into effect from 1 December 2021 and applies to all health and community services funded by the State and Commonwealth Governments.

As a health and community provider who is committed to supporting the safety and wellbeing of our customers, colleagues, and communities, Avivo has requested all people employed and engaged by Avivo have the first vaccination by 1 December 2021 and the second by 31 December. This includes some contract workers engaged directly by customers.

Many of our colleagues and contractors are already vaccinated, but some are yet to make this decision. While we support our colleagues and contractors with information and access regarding mandatory vaccination, our priority is in ensuring you receive appropriate support. Should you have any concerns, please speak with your coordinator or Avivo key contact to discuss.

Should you personally want to find out more about the vaccination or the government mandate you can access more information below:

I appreciate your patience and support during this challenging period.

The Perth Pride Parade  is WA’s largest celebration of the LGBTQI+ community. This year’s theme is R.E.S.P.E.C.T and we’re calling for colleagues and customers from Avivo to join in.

Our Diversity Working Group (DWG) started an initiative called the care collaborative, which aims to connect rainbow friendly folks in like-minded community service organisations, bringing groups of LGBTIQ+ folks, their allies and the people we support, together at  Perth Pride on 27 November.

The DWG has registered a walking ‘float’ (not a vehicle) under the care collaborative. We’ll walk together with others from our sector, wearing care collaborative t-shirts and with a care collaborative banner to unite our collective identity. No individual organisation’s names or services will be shown.

There’s no registration fee and no marketing agenda, simply multiple organisations coming together in the care collaborative name to support each other and celebrate people of diverse sexuality and gender.

Keen? Please head to www.carecollaborative.org.au before 10 November to get your name on the list and we’ll see you there!
