Trustees’ Week 2021 1-5 November 2021
Thank you to Norfolk’s Trustees

This week is Trustees’ Week when we celebrate the amazing contribution made by the volunteer trustees and committee members who help to run charities and groups all over Norfolk. Trustees' contributions have been needed more than ever over the past 18 months when many charities have needed to do more with fewer resources, as well as responding to the increased need for their services.

If you haven’t thought about a trustee role before, why not take a look at some of the trustee roles on the Volunteering Portal or listed below. Trustees work together to make sure that the organisation is meeting its aims and objectives, and is well managed and well run in line with the requirements of the Charity Commission. Becoming a trustee is a great way to support an organisation whose cause is close to your heart.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee, but you’re not sure whether it would be right for you, or would like help in finding the most suitable role, do get in touch with us at volunteercentre@voluntarynorfolk.org.uk or you might like to try this quiz to see what skills you might be able to offer to a charity.

Free Access to Resources in Trustee’s Week

National support organisation, NCVO, is offering free access to a range of resources for Trustee Boards during Trustees' Week. These are normally only available to members, so this is a chance to access a range of sample documents and guidance for trustee boards. The link should be live between 1-5 November, so you’ll need to move fast. Click here to access the NCVO resources NCVO board basics section.

Voluntary Norfolk has invited a number of organisations with a Health and Wellbeing focus to join us at our very first Virtual Volunteering Fair. Join our new Facebook Group

We’re very excited to invite you to join our new Facebook Group, Volunteering in Norfolk! We hope this group will make it even easier for you to find volunteering opportunities in your area and that in time it will grow into a thriving online community where people can freely share their experiences and love for volunteering. If you are on Facebook, please join us.

Hear from a Trustee

As part of Trustees Week, we’ve been talking to some people who are trustees of charities in Norfolk. We’ve recorded our conversations and we will be making them available on the Voluntary Norfolk You Tube channel.  One of the trustees we talked to is Caroline Elliott, who is a trustee for The Magdalene Group.  You can see our conversation with her here.
