"One Can Never Get Tired
of Eating Napa Cabbage"

From the website RedSpiceHouse.com, "an old Chinese saying claims “Bǎi Chī Bú Yàn Dà Bái Cài/百吃不厌大白菜”, meaning “One can never get tired of eating Napa cabbage”.
We're celebrating another favorite vegetable this week - Napa Cabbage. We love Napa for its taste and texture, its key role in Kimchi, and its ability to be a workhorse delicious veggie stand-in - it can be cooked greens or raw, it can behave like lettuce or bok choy or any number of other vegetables in a recipe. It's also long lasting in storage. Give Napa a try in a new way this week, or try your hand at making Kimchi (we also have a variety of Daikon Radishes for your Kimchi).

The variety we've just harvested is called Minuet Napa Cabbage. This variety is more compact than the larger Bilko, making it a little more manageable in the fridge. Start with these 10 Napa Cabbage Recipes, and follow the recipe links below. You too can become a proud member of the Napa Cabbage Club.

Farm Store Updates

Our Farm Store is open Tuesday through Friday 2 - 6pm and Saturdays 9am - 4pm. We plan to keep that schedule going for the next few weeks. After Thanksgiving we’ll switch to winter hours and online ordering.

We revamped and expanded our Online Ordering system for the fall season. You can place orders throughout the week for multiple pickup day options. We're going to be open for many weeks to come and we'd love to see you in the Farm Store, whether you are picking up an order or shopping in person.

Harvest Update:

This first week of November we're planning to harvest the rest of our carrots, turnips, and cabbage early in the week, and then red potatoes if it’s not too muddy. Kale and radicchio are also on the list. We will also begin harvesting spinach from the hoophouse (available at the Farm Store starting on Tuesday!). Baby greens of all kinds are still going strong so we’re able to keep the store fridge fully stocked with lettuce mixes, microgreens, baby kale, baby chard, and more.
