APP RECOMMENDATION
Pocketbook

If you are looking for clarity around what you are spending and saving during the holiday period, a budgeting app like Pocketbook can help you stay on top of your expenses and minimise future feelings of overwhelm when the holiday season finishes up.

Russ Harris' The Happiness Trap is a great starting point for anyone interested in exploring Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Whether you’re lacking confidence, facing illness, coping with loss, working in a high-stress job, or suffering from anxiety or depression, this book will show you how to build authentic happiness, from the inside out.

Below is an example of one of the many resources found in the book that can help you explore how to open up and make room for your emotions...

Once you’ve got a hang of naming those four basic emotions, you can go further.

1. Learn to name different degrees or intensities of those emotions,

2. Once a week (or once every few weeks) look through the emotion list above and pick a new emotion to work on. Practice noticing and naming this new emotion when it occurs.

PRACTICE UPDATE
Holiday Period Opening Hours & Medicare Updates
We are pleased to share that the additional 10 sessions under the Medicare mental health treatment plan have been extended to December 2022. This is part of a suite of health announcements from the Government, which also includes an extension of medicare-funded telehealth appointments for the next four years.

As we reach one of the busiest times of the year, our psychologists will be conducting mostly telehealth sessions over the holiday break. If you need additional support over this period please get in touch our friendly admin team via info@mind-matters.com.au or (02) 8080 9601
