What's new in Newton-le-Willows?

Don't miss the fireworks this Friday

Newton Sports Club's fantastic annual bonfire and fireworks display takes place this Friday, 5 November.

The evening will be packed with entertainment for all the family and will include an under-12s fairground with food and drink on sale. 

Admission is £5 each (children under two go free), but you must have a ticket - available now from a number of local shops. But hurry, as they're selling fast.

Chris takes on 100 miles in 30 days challenge for mental health charity

A hypnotherapist and counsellor from Newton-Le-Willows is embarking on a charity running challenge to raise money for the mental health charity Mind.

Chris Skoyles has taken on the challenge this month, inspired by the comfort he took from running whilst suffering from depression himself. 

He's aiming to raise as much money as possible for this good cause - and your donations can help!

Congratulations to Newton-le-Willows gymnastics club, Hope Acro, who recently returned triumphant from an international tournament in Sunderland.
 
The young gymnasts competed against the best in the UK and Italy, and came home with an impressive medal haul!

1. Roadworks are taking place on Cross Lane and Patterson Street until 8 November, with delays likely. There are also planned works this week on Crow Lane East, Park Road South, Bradlegh Road and the East Lancashire Road. Full details are on our site now.

2. There was a nice piece in the Liverpool Echo this week, looking at the proposed regeneration of Earlestown, and getting the views of local businesses including John's Barbers and Earlestown Premium Butchers. Well worth a read.

Remembrance services confirmed

The war memorial at Earlestown Town Hall will be the focus of Remembrance for Newton-le-Willows and Earlestown this year. 

Services will take place on both Armistice Day (11 November) and Remembrance Sunday (14 November). We have all the times and details on our site now.
