Daylight Saving Time
Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 7. As you turn your clocks back one hour, remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors to keep your family safe! For additional safety tips, visit here.
Light the Lights
The Village’s beloved Light the Lights event returns this year on Friday, November 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in downtown Glencoe! In addition to the holiday lighting ceremony, this year’s event will also feature Santa and live reindeer, trackless train rides, shopping specials and more! Glencoe Community Holiday Drive
Coming soon! Later this month, the Glencoe Community Holiday Drive will again begin accepting donations for our local neighbors in need. Please stay tuned to future eNews editions and the Village’s social media channels for Holiday Drive collection information. If you are interested in volunteering for the Holiday Drive, please e-mail glencoecommunityholidaydrive@gmail.com for more information.
Business and Liquor License Renewal
Attention all Glencoe businesses! Business and liquor license renewal paperwork will be mailed out this week. All businesses operating in commercially-zoned spaces in the Village are required to obtain a business license, which is issued for a one-year period from January 1 through December 31. All businesses that sell or serve alcohol are required to obtain a liquor license from the Village, as well as the State of Illinois. To learn more, visit here.
Fall Leaf Collection Program
The Village’s Fall Leaf Collection will continue for the next several weeks. Please visit the Village’s website to track collection crews and more. Also, consider how you can Leave the Leaves this fall. Leaves provide shelter to insects and worms that add benefits to the environment and more, which you can here.

Village Manager's Blog - It's Budget Time!
Today’s edition of the Village Manager’s Blog outlines the draft Calendar Year 2022 Budget which is now available on the Village’s website for review. The Village Board will meet on November 16 and 18 to review the budget in detail. Read all about it here.

Pumpkin Smash
When you are done with your Halloween pumpkins, don't throw them in the trash - compost them tomorrow, Saturday, November 6 from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Community Garden (380 Old Green Bay Road)! Pumpkins should be clean - please remove any candles or decorations prior to drop-off. For more information, visit here.
STF's Final Leaf Walk
The Glencoe Sustainability Task Force will have their final leaf walk this Sunday, November 7 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Kalk Park (260 Park Avenue) for those who wish to take advantage of the fall weather before it is winter soon! All ages are welcome.
Media Sale with the Friends of the Glencoe Library
Find thousands of gently used CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks at the Friends of the Glencoe Public Library's Media Sale next Saturday, November 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enter through the main door of the library; the sale will be in the Forte Room on the main floor. Masks are required. All proceeds support the library.
Lunches of Hope
Glencoe Youth Services and the Glencoe Junior High Projects will host "Lunches of Hope"  next Saturday, November 13 starting at 10 a.m. at the Glencoe Youth Services Center (680 Greenwood Avenue). Volunteers will pack lunches that will be donated to the homeless and those in need. All ages are welcome.
Glencoe Public Library Presentation: Scott Stone
Glencoe resident Scott Stone will give a virtual presentation on Tuesday, November 16 at 7 p.m. through the Glencoe Public Library and Glencoe Sustainability Task Force on cocoon conservation and biodiversity. Mr. Stone is the founder and CEO of Lookfar Conservation and the chair-elect of the Board of Trustees of the National Park Trust. He'll discuss Lookfar's work in environmentally sensitive areas around the world, the role of social entrepreneurship in conservation and the use of cutting-edge data technology in ecological restoration. Click here to register for the event.
Thanksgiving Fun Run
The 2nd Annual Glencoe Junior High Project's Thanksgiving Fun Run 5K is on Saturday, November 20, with check-in at 7:30 a.m. at Central School. It is open to students and families of all ages. Tickets are $15 per person. Click here to register. GJHP will also collecting items on-site for Cradles to Crayons, helping children have the essentials they need to thrive!
