Hey Norm's Friend -
Earlier this month I had the opportunity to join my colleague Titonian Wallace Sr. of Nesace Media for a discussion on tips, tricks and time savers for small business owners on a budget. Obviously I talked about email marketing and why having a strong list is important. However, we shared a lot of resources (check out the video below!) that I thought might be a helpful reminder or new tip for you as we wrap up 2021. This week here's 3 (non-newsletter) Efficient and Effective Ways to Grow Your Business:
- Google My Business - We both agreed that being listed on GMB is the right first step for your business. They have service area options if you don't have a physical location (just like me!) and they let you post updates. Add this to your social media sharing plan as well!
- Offer a Free Download - Sure this is newsletter adjacent, but having a free download/opt-in on your website is a great way for prospects and your network to get to know you. It's an easy way to test the waters AND it's a great way to grow your list - as some of you on this list have experienced first hand...
- Reviews - Don't forget to ask your clients and customers for testimonials and reviews. From Google My Business (a great place to start!) to LinkedIn to Facebook - reviews are important. Make a plan to ask for them throughout the life cycle of your clients. Maybe it's on an invoice, or after X months or work together. Or maybe it's just a great email they sent you that you respond and ask if they'd copy and paste it somewhere. Don't forget to ask.
There are a ton of marketing tasks you have to do in your business, I get it. Making sure you find a few that are cost effective AND efficient can mean a world of difference in growing your business.
What tips, tricks and time savers have helped your business grow this year? I'd love to hear it!
Cheers!
Elizabeth, Norm & Cliff!
