OVC tribal grantees and those seeking OVC grant funding are invited to learn the difference between supplanting, supplementing and duplicative costs. This webinar will cover:
- Differences between supplementing and supplanting in a program/project budget
- Definition of duplicative costs
- Budgeting examples of supplementing, supplanting, and duplicative costs
- Strategies to avoid supplanting and duplicative costs

Kristene Moore serves as a Financial Specialist for the Tribal Financial Management Center (TFMC). Kristene brings extensive experience navigating the financial requirements of grant funding from federal, state, and local government, as well as private sponsors. Kristene has years of experience managing DOJ/OJP grant funds on the grantee side. Kristene is committed to social justice, equity, and inclusion and is passionate about using her advanced knowledge and experience to help build capacity in underserved and underfunded communities. Kristene has a Bachelors of Science in Financial Economics and lives a short distance from New York City in Long Island, NY.

Tamara Fulwyler, MPH, is a member of the Chickasaw Nation who lives and works remotely from Puyallup, Washington, home of the Coastal Salish peoples. Tamara serves as a grant financial management subject matter expert to TFMC bringing her years of specialized experience and life-long advocacy for healthy communities to OVC grantees. For the past three decades, she has assisted rural residents in reducing/removing the individual, institutional, and systemic barriers to their safety and wellness. Her published work addresses how building collaborations across the public and private sectors of a community can prevent violence against children and vulnerable adults.
