Dear All,

Next Saturday (6th November 10-12am, and if necessary in the afternoon) we will be finishing our work at the village pond, opposite the Village Hall. Many of you came last month and did sterling work for the morning; this time we will be clearing the Michaelmas daisies, which are now over, as well as getting into the pond to clear some of the rushes and grasses.

To help with this we now have three new waders and some angled long-handled forks (cromes), as well as our usual shears and loppers. Please use your own tools if you prefer. We will need wheelbarrows and garden forks, so please come with them too if you have some. Unfortunately because of the continuing pandemic we cannot provide coffee or snacks but we will have a break at around 11 if you bring your own.

We have also been asked to help the school plant some trees around the village, maybe later this month. I will send out more details as we know them.

I hope you have all read the thanks we received from the Parish council in the Ewhurst & Ellens Green News. It is really nice to know that our efforts are well received.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday if you can make it.

All the best,
Eddie
