THE FLOW
NOVEMBER 2021

The Flow is the quarterly e-newsletter of the Hydro Empowerment Network (HPNET), a south-south knowledge exchange and advocacy platform to advance local practitioners of small-scale hydropower, made possible by the WISIONS initiative.

In this issue, we feature the work of HPNET members in Afghanistan, Nicaragua and Philippines, as well as reflections on hydro mini-grids in conflict regions across Africa and the Asia Pacific.

From our feature series, we bring you a new edition of Hidden No More, featuring a conversation with energy access innovator, Ayu Abdullah.  From our SEEED initiative, we overview exciting new initiatives facilitated in partnership with International Rivers.  In addition, don't miss video recordings from our virtual exchange event: Advancing Community-Scale Hydropower (< 1MW) for Climate and Economic Resilience. Finally, be sure to check out the latest edition of our video podcast series, StreamSide Chats, focusing on community utilities in Pakistan.
