A happy ending: Tsezar's life-changing journey
With an estimated 1,600 captive tigers in Europe, 10,000 in the US and 1,500 tigers caged in South Africa, we are fighting to protect ALL big cat species and ban their commercial trade.
And last week, one of these tigers started his new life with us at our FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary. Watch his heartwarming journey.

Beautiful tiger 11-year-old Tsezar had a terrible start in life, exploited in a nightclub in Ukraine and abused for intensive breeding. Dehydrated, malnourished, and lying in his own faeces, he was eventually left behind to die. What a heartbreaking end for any animal!
Thanks to dedicated animal advocates like you, instead of this dark fate, Tsezar was brought to a rescue centre, and then, thanks to the support of Tigers in America, we were able to jump in and bring Tsezar to our FELIDA Big Cat Sanctuary in the Netherlands. Finally, he can start a new species-appropriate life and get the care he deserves!

The first 24 hours after his arrival at our sanctuary, Tsezar was exhausted and simply slept for hours. But then, he took a big step into his new home. Tsezar explored his leafy enclosure, started with some friendly ‘chuffs’ towards his animal caretakers and even met his beautiful neighbour; tigress Dehli. But above all, he discovered his new hammock, which he immediately approved! It was a blast to see him like this.
Tsezar may be one tiger out of thousands who need help, but to see the suffering he endured at the hands of humans rapidly change to a life of kindness and care, makes our work and your passion all the more worth it.

Thousands of other endangered tigers are still being exploited in the wildlife trade. We want to protect not only tigers like Tsezar, but all animals from exploitation. That is why we are calling to ban commercial trade of all wild animals as part of our #StopTheNextPandemic campaign.
