GRADE 8-9 ATTENDANCE
Please note that Grade 8 and 9 learners are having consolidation lessons in their core subjects (the compulsory languages and Mathematics) next week Monday and Tuesday (8-9 November), so it's important that they attend school.

END-OF-YEAR PROGRAMME:
It is vitally important that all pupils attend school after the examinations, during the week of Monday 6 to Friday 10 December.

Other than checking scripts and important administrative activities, we will be starting the orientation programme for 2022. This includes sorting pupils into their new houses and tutor groups. Please ensure that your children attend this compulsory programme to prepare them for the new house and tutor system.  A letter with more details will be going out next week.

Presidents' Award Update

Congratulations to Saskia van Otterlo (Grade 10) and Shelby le Roux (Grade 11) who received their bronze Presidents' Awards in October.

The Presidents Award consists of four components: sport, service, skills and an adventurous journey. Shelby used school hockey and music involvement for the sports and skills components. For service, she volunteered at Maitland Cottage and her adventurous journey was a two-day hike at Cape Point with some of her friends.

Saskia was involved with a variety of service projects through Scouts which included helping at Cubs meetings, community outreach in Vrygrond and litter cleanups. For her skill, she has been mastering the French Horn and she used school cricket for the sports component.

LO Matters

  • Creative Academy Open Day: Are you interested in Communication Design, Contemporary Art, Interaction Design or Motion Design? Join us on campus on Saturday 6 November 10:00-12:00 and find out what we do and how we do it. You will have a chance to meet some of our team in action. Book now! Spaces are limited.

Grade 8 Dance

This term the Grade 8 and 9 learners set out on a SCREEN DANCE journey for their Dance Practical Project. Screen Dance is a duet between choreography and cinematography. Over a period of four weeks, learners were introduced to the various shots, frames, angles and editing apps a cinematographer would use when piecing together a screen dance work.
View the submission of Madison Bailey and Alex Arendse (Grade 8) here.

Watch this space for more excellent submissions by our Grade 8 and 9 learners.
