Session 7 of The Sustainability Laboratory's inaugural conversation series, Exploring the Sustainability Challenge, is now just two weeks away! This upcoming session, Urbanization and Sustainability with Jonathan Rose, will take place on Thursday, November 18th, at 6:00 p.m. EST. Register today if you haven't already!
Jonathan Rose, an urban development visionary, will be in conversation with Michael Ben-Eli, founder of The Sustainability Laboratory. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience. If you are unfamiliar with Jonathan Rose and his work, please enjoy learning about some of his many notable achievements:
- Jonathan Rose is an urban planner and is considered a champion of inclusive, sustainable, community-centered development
- He is the Founder and President of Jonathan Rose Companies, LLC, known for developing affordable, green, and environmentally responsible communities
- He launched the Rose Smart Growth Investment Fund, the first real estate fund in the country to focus exclusively on acquiring and retrofitting buildings to make them more environmentally friendly
- He is the author of the 2016 book The Well-Tempered City: What Modern Science, Ancient Civilizations, and Human Nature Teach Us About the Future of Urban Life, and numerous articles and publications
- He won the 2021 Urban Land Institute Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development
- He co-founded the Garrison Institute, a non-profit organization committed to using the power of contemplation to build a more resilient and compassionate future for all
- He founded the jazz and new music record label Gramavision Records, and he sits on the Boards of various nonprofit organizations

Exploring the Sustainability Challenge is the inaugural conversation series of The Sustainability Laboratory. Each event features a lively conversation between Michael Ben-Eli and a thought leader, discussing an urgent sustainability issue facing the planet. This free series takes place once a month over Zoom, and will continue throughout the remainder of 2021.
