Very attractive core of pretty fruit and polished yet chewy tannins. Medium to full body, integrated tannins and a driven finish. One of the best Talbots in a long time.

The 2018 Talbot is super-refined and nuanced from start to finish. Powerful yet also impeccably refined. Talbot is a wine of real character and glass. Savory Cabernet Sauvignon inflections of grilled herbs, cedar, tobacco, menthol, licorice and coffee all add shades of nuance. At times, Talbot can be a bit light. Not in 2018. Simply put, the 2018 Talbot is stellar. Tasted two times.

JD95 - Jeb Dunnuck

This estate is on a roll and the 2018 Château Talbot might just be the best yet. A deep purple/blue color is followed by a mammoth-sized bouquet of crème de cassis, dark chocolate, tobacco, and lead pencil. Rich, full-bodied, and powerful, it nevertheless stays pure, balanced, and elegant, with a beautiful finish. Its tannins are ripe and integrated, it has balancing acidity, and this is unquestionably another beautiful vintage for this estate.

Deepest black-cherry colour. Sweet cassis and blueberry fruit. Smooth and juicy on the palate, much more apparently approachable than many but there’s a deep core of ripe tannin hiding behind the juicy fruit. Thickly textured on the finish yet promising. (JH) 14%

大寶城堡2018年份在期酒周接受桶中品評階段受到了多位權威酒評家及機構的高分好評,其中,詹姆斯·薩克林(James Suckling)讚美其「是很長一段時間以來最出色的大寶城堡紅葡萄酒之一」。

Talbot has a long history. According to legend, it was named after a British general named John Talbot in the mid-15th century. During the Hundred Years’ War (Hundred Years’ War), General Talbot base camp was located on the land of Talbot Castle. He was defeated by the French in the Battle of Castillon in 1453. Died. This battle ended the British occupation of Bordeaux in France for more than 300 years and became the last battle in the Hundred Years' War. In order to commemorate this hard-earned victory, France named Talbot Castle after the general's surname. The wine produced by the winery is also regarded as a joyous wine for victory because of this history. In the famous wine comic "Drops of God", the wine of Talbot is used by the protagonist's father as a celebration wine to wish his son a victory in the competition.

Chateau Talbot is a typical winery in the Saint-Julien region of Bordeaux, France. Its fine wines can give people a pleasant drinking experience when they are young, and they also have strong aging potential. 2018 is the 100th year that the Cordier family has taken charge of Talbot. For this century-significant vintage, Talbot specially designed a wine bottle with a silk-screen printed wine label to commemorate the family's outstanding craftsmanship that has been earnestly accumulated and passed down since 1918.

2018 is a very good year, even an excellent year. In spring, the weather is humid and there is more rainfall. In summer, the weather improves and the vines can grow healthily. The weather in September and October is sunny and sunny, which is very conducive to the ripening and harvesting of grapes. The good weather lasted from July to October during the harvest period, and the winery was able to harvest excellent quality fruits and then make excellent wines. At the beginning of April 2019, Michel Rolland, the most influential flying winemaker in the world and the chief wine consultant of Wine World, praised in an interview with the Wine World team in Bordeaux: "The 2018 vintage is a perfect vintage. Every region in Bordeaux has produced excellent wines.”

The 2018 vintage of Talbot received high scores from many authoritative wine critics and institutions during the barrel-in-the-barrel tasting stage of the Enrichment Week. Among them, James Suckling praised it as "the best in a long time One of the outstanding red wines of Talbot".
