Over 50 national policy dialogues are proposed over the next two years. This workshop will present an overview of a policy dialogue framework leading to systems change and adoption of Integrated People Centered Eyecare (IPEC).
This session will cover engagement with national governments and the WHO, identifying entry points and identifying targeted advocacy messaging to deliver tangible outcomes with lasting impact. The session will introduce resources from WHO and IAPB to support the policy dialogue process in diverse settings.
Learning Outcomes:
Recognize the steps involved to lead effective national policy dialogues on eye health
Use a policy dialogue framework to inform the policy dialogue process in their own context
Identify the potential stakeholders to collaborate with and establish networks to advance the policy dialogues
Discuss global eye health policy priorities with colleagues and collaborators
Access and use IAPB & WHO resources available to guide and inform the planning and delivery of policy dialogues
Facilitators
Aaron Magava - IAPB Regional Chair for Africa, and an ophthalmologist working in Zimbabwe.
Eva Lazuka-Nicoulaud - Eva is the Director at the Vision Impact Institute for Europe and Africa. She has experience in consulting, marketing, innovation strategy, communication, professional affairs, lobbying and advocacy.
Nicholas Mutale - Nicholas is Executive Director for Lions Aid, Zambia. He has been leading project teams as Country Director for Lions Aid Norway for the Zambia Country Office with additional responsibility over the Malawi Country Office.
Judith Marcano Williams - Judith is the Program Manager – The Americas at Vision Impact Institute. She has held positions at the World Bank and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic.
