Mark your calendars: The 6th annual Celebration of Teaching & Learning Symposium will be held virtually on Thursday, February 10.

You are invited to submit proposals for the Celebration of Teaching & Learning Symposium, hosted by CETL. The Symposium welcomes works focusing on improving student learning, academic success, and curriculum in higher education. It provides opportunities to share teaching and learning efforts as Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) presentations or Lightning presentations on Teaching Practice.

Rice Library invites the USI community to its virtual Lunch and Learn Workshop Series.

Portfolio Preparation and Guidelines

Tuesday, December 14 and Wednesday, December 15 at 9-9:55 am | Zoom link

The purpose of the session is to provide participants with an overview of the guidelines for preparing a portfolio for reappointment or tenure/promotion and consider ideas for their approach to portfolio preparation. University information regarding portfolios is available on the Provost’s website. The slides will be available afterward.

  • LEAP Indiana's Spring Book Club: Kevin Gannon’s newest book Radical Hope: A Teaching Manifesto. Since USI is a member of LEAP Indiana, you are eligible to receive a complimentary copy of the book. Register by November 30Join in discussions of Gannon’s book during 4 Zoom sessions on January 21, February 4, 18, and 25 at 1 pm.
  • CUMU Virtual Learning & Sharing Series: Now-December 14 (schedule), view Promising Practice and Lightning sessions on Student success and well-being; Campus and community partnerships; University strategy and infrastructure; Racial equity and the urban mission; and Anchor mission implementation. The virtual series brings together administrators, faculty, staff, students from CUMU member institutions and their community partners for critical dialogue with practical takeaways that create action. Since USI is a member of CUMU, registration is free.
