Roswell UMC Student Ministry has a long history of helping young people live Christ-centered lives. This year alone over 70 young people have made a first time commitment to Jesus Christ through this ministry. You have an opportunity to help for the coming year, and Jason will tell you how.

We Need Your Help!
We have our two biggest events of the year for RUMC Students coming up: the RUMC Christmas Gift and Craft Show and Altar Your Life Weekend. Their success is in direct correlation to the involvement of our church family.
The RUMC Christmas Gift and Craft Show
Our event is held in the Dodson Youth Center and adjacent parking lot from Thursday, December 2 through Saturday, December 4. As always, you are encouraged to come out and support the Student Ministry by shopping from 85+ vendors. New this year is our outdoor “Winter Wonderland” with 20 vendors, free hot chocolate, lights, music, and SNOW! Yep!
But, to make this event a success, we need help from our RUMC family:
- This Sunday after church at 12:15 p.m. moving all the furniture in the Dod to make way for all our vendor booths to be set up
- Throughout the week getting set up and decorated
- Thursday from 12-4 p.m. loading vendors’ items into their booths
- Throughout the show with sales, greeters, security, and more
- Saturday from 3-5 p.m., loading the vendors’ items back into their cars
- Next Sunday, December 5 at 12:15 p.m. putting all the Dod furnishings back into place
If you can help with any of these things, go to our website to sign up, call us in the Student Ministry office (770.261.1776), or email us and let us know how you’d like to help.
ALTAR YOUR LIFE Weekend 2022
AYL is RUMC Student Ministry’s largest event of the year. It is an “in-house” youth retreat in Roswell, and all the activities are at the church from February 4-6. We are excited to announce that we are returning to “host homes” again this year; groups of 6-10 students will be housed in church members’ homes. (Any student who does not want to stay overnight has the option to return to their home each night and rejoin us at the church in the morning).
We anticipate 300-350 students attending this year’s event, which means we really need the help of our church family to make this happen. Besides the 40+ host homes, we need an additional 100-120 volunteers to serve food, take pictures, drive groups to mission projects, oversee recreational activities, serve as security and parking lot attendants, etc.
If you are willing and able to serve during AYL 2022, please go to our website for more information and to sign up. We’d love for you to experience Altar Your Life Weekend for yourself. Whether your kids are young or have left the nest, whether your kids have kids of their own, or you have none at all, I urge you to come out and see what AYL Weekend is all about. If you’d like more information, please email us or call 770.261.1776.
Thank you for serving the Lord!
