Peter Webster Award for Excellence in Teaching and Patient Care 

Dr. Edward Etchells has received the 2021 Peter Webster Award for Excellence in Teaching and Patient Care from the Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Sinai Health Distinguished Educator Award

Dr. Yayi Huang has been received the 2021 Distinguished Educator Award from Sinai Health System. 

Jack Tu Senior Investigator Award   

Dr. Ayelet Kuper has received the 2021 Jack Tu Senior Investigator Award from the Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Kevin R. Imrie Leadership Award

Dr. Lynfa Stroud has received the 2021 Kevin R. Imrie Leadership Award from the Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Continuing Education Teaching Award  

Dr. Adina Weinerman has received the 2021 Continuing Education Teaching Award from the Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Senior Faculty Award for Quality Improvement 

Dr. Brian Wong has received the 2021 Senior Faculty Award for Quality Improvement from the Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

New Full-Time Faculty
 

Dr. Michael Randazzo 

Dr. Michael Randazzo joins the Division of GIM as its first Clinician Teacher recruited to do 90% clinical work (previously known as the "clinician-clinician" stream). Mike completed a BSc at McMaster University, an MD at the St. James School of Medicine in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, postgraduate internal medicine training at Wayne State University, and a Hospital Medicine Fellowship at the University Health Network, where he subsequently worked as a clinical associate and was twice awarded the GIM Citizenship Award. His work will involve attending and teaching on the GIM hospitalist and other services at the Toronto General Hospital. Congratulations and welcome!

Core Internal Medicine Program Site Director at Toronto Western Hospital

Dr. Lindsay Melvin has been appointed as the next Core Internal Medicine Program Site Director at Toronto Western Hospital, effective January 1, 2022. Many thanks to Dr. Rodrigo Cavalcanti, who has been ably serving as interim site director.
