Giving Tuesday
It’s #GivingTuesday, and it's the perfect time to support your student in one more way. A generous donor has agreed to give an additional $10,000 to Calvin students if we reach 500 donors by the end of the day, so your $10 gets us closer to $10,000. Will you make a gift right now?
The Calvin Annual Fund fills the gap where tuition dollars stop. From arts and athletics to financial aid, research, student life, and sustainability—the annual fund impacts every student, every day.
A Light to the Nations: A Service of Lessons and Carols
Please join the Calvin University Campus Men’s Choir, Women’s Chorale, and Capella for these annual Advent worship services on Sunday, December 5 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. EST. The services will be available via livestream or in person at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church (masks required).
Extra flexibility for January residence hall re-opening
While residence halls officially re-open after Christmas break at 12 noon on Sunday, January 9, the residence life team is making the halls available any time after 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 8, for students traveling from further away who need more flexibility with travel arrangements. One dining hall will also be open beginning Saturday evening, and there is no additional fee for students who return Saturday. All students are expected to be present at spring semester classes on Monday, January 10.
Spring semester textbooks
To ensure students are able to get their spring textbooks before the first day of class, they are encouraged to order them from the campus store in the next two weeks and pick them up when they return fall textbooks. Textbook FAQs »
FAFSA and financial aid timelines
The FAFSA for the 2022–23 academic year is available at FAFSA.gov. The 2022–23 FAFSA uses 2020 tax return information. Families who have experienced a reduction in income or other significant changes to family finances since 2020 should consider submitting Calvin’s 2022–23 Special Circumstances Form.
Applications for named (donor) scholarships will be available in early December and due January 31. Because some of those scholarships require financial need, the financial aid office recommends that current students complete the FAFSA no later than January 15. Students from Michigan must file the FAFSA by March 1 to be eligible for the Michigan Tuition Grant.
Current students will be awarded their 2022–23 financial aid package in early May 2022, since grade results are necessary to evaluate renewal of certain scholarships and other aid.
