Dear <<First Name>>,

The month of December will be glorious! Our Nativity Play cast and script are finalized, so we are ready to let the show begin. This year our story focuses on the shepherds, outsiders who learn that the story of God's love is for everyone.

Unlike last year, we are hoping to do all the recording together in and around the church, rather than record some of the scenes at home. We are planning to do this on Saturday, December 4, from 2-5 p.m. Watch for a schedule from me next week. If your child is not available that day, please let me know. You can view the script and cast here but I will also have scripts printed out for the kids.

We will also be recording the song “Go Tell It on the Mountain” on December 4. Everyone involved in the play is asked to attend Junior Church this Sunday, November 28 for a rehearsal and to sort out their costumes.

ADVENT CANDLES
Before we get to December, just a reminder that this Sunday, November 28, is the First Sunday in Advent, the beginning of our church year. Hopefully you all still have your Advent candle wreaths from last year and are ready to bring them out to light the first candle! You can say this prayer when you do:

ALMIGHTY God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armour of light, now in the time of this mortal life, in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious Majesty, to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, now and ever. Amen.

Junior Church will be collecting new toys every Sunday until Sunday, December 19. Toys can be dropped off in the Parish Hall on the pew or given directly to me. After service on Sunday, December 19 Junior Churchers will be walking to the Swansea Fire Hall to deliver the toys. Unfortunately, this year we are unable to have a tour of the Fire Hall.

CALLING ALL CARD MAKERS!!!

Junior Church will once again make cards to gift to the seniors of St Olave's this holiday season! If your child is not joining us in person, but would still like to make a card please email me by December 3 letting me know how many cards they would like to make.

If you have further questions please feel free to contact me.

Peace,

Brittany Hudson
