We know change takes time. As the gunfire epidemic accelerates, we need to acknowledge our Soul Box Project event in D.C. was not so much a grand finale as it is an auspicious beginning. We will continue to raise awareness for years to come, history will prove our efforts worthwhile, and those who have found solace by participating in our ARTivism will continue to find compassion and empathy. Their gratitude is a worthy goal in and of itself.
We, and they, are grateful for your support. Happy Thanksgiving! ~ Leslie

Individuals who contributed in 2020-2021 to make This Loss We Carry happen are too numerous to list here.
Please accept our sincere gratitude for your support.
Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers.
From hours spent in the workshop sorting Boxes, creating panels, re-bagging Boxes and packing the trucks, to setting up and taking down the exhibit on the National Mall in D.C.– This Loss We Carry would not have been as impressive as it was without you!
With your help we made an impact.
With your help we can keep going.
Can you help us find new storage/workspace? As we transition to the next phase of this Project, the expense of 3 storage units and rent at The Multnomah Arts Center is not sustainable.
We’re looking for 700-1000 sq. feet of donated or more cost effective space. We’d like to keep everything in one place if possible.
Eyes and ears open everyone! This is TOP priority!
Could YOU help us fill some volunteer positions? We’re in need of skilled volunteers starting in 2022 to help with small projects, proofreading, administrative tasks, grant writing, communications, and fundraising. Any skill or amount of time could be valuable. Let's talk!
Could you help us move out of the Multnomah Arts Center before the end of January? We also need folks to do inventory on the Boxes that may have been damaged by rain/travel to and from D.C.
More information on the work party to come.
We'd like to find a gathering space to host a celebration for all of our volunteers, donors, and supporters!
Do you have connections to a church, business, or community space that is allowing in-person events?
We're looking for an indoor event venue that has a big screen so we can share all the photos and some video from the weekend in D.C. while people are mingling, reuniting and sharing stories.
After four years there are a bunch of us! It would be good to see you all –
either in December to close out 2021, or in January to kick off a New Year.
If you have any leads on storage space, can see yourself in one of our volunteer positions, know of event space available, or have ideas about how you can help, email info@soulboxproject.org.
