Sunshine Soiree for meetings and events organisers

After 20 months of disruption in the meetings, incentives and events sector, the Sunshine Coast is on the front foot preparing for a major revival of the market in 2022. Our business events team and members staged a Sunshine Soiree in Brisbane to showcase the region’s best conference and incentive products and updated an audience of over 50 delegates on new venues, attractions and activities. COVID-19 update

  • Queensland restrictions at 80% double-dose vaccination
Thank you for your feedback and questions as we have sought clarity from state government. This
page continues to be updated with responses for business and industry that you may find helpful.

  • Mandatory vaccination requirement for staff
As you will be aware, the Queensland Government recently announced
a number of measures that would require all staff and patrons to be vaccinated at a range of businesses and venues. It is important to note that, regardless of how early Queensland may hit the 80% double dose vaccination rate, these measures will commence from 17 December 2021. Hopefully this information will provide further certainty so businesses and staff can plan accordingly.

  • PCR testing requirement is in place for domestic travel from hotspots until 90% of eligible Queenslanders have received a double dose of vaccination. The Queensland Government will accept proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior of arrival via text message or other digital means which attracts no cost.

  • Find out more about where you and your staff can get vaccinated.

In anticipation for our borders reopening to our southern states, we filmed two segments with Channel 7’s Sydney Weekender, the first of which went to air over the weekend! The program featured Snorkelling at Mudjimba Island with Sunreef, The Wharf Mooloolaba and Loea Boutique Accomodation. Watch here.

In other broadcast news, a Caloundra special on Channel 9’s Fishing Australia went to air over the weekend, and showcased Caloundra and the Sunshine Coast as a not only a premier fishing destination but a stand-out holiday destination!
