Cooking in the Kitchen (downstairs)

Dear Friends,
I am sure you all remember the program we had at Hyde Park to make dinners to keep in the freezer at church. Those dinners were then ready to feed those in need. Because of Covid, we haven't gathered to make meals, the freezers are getting bare and it seems like a good time to enjoy some fellowship and serve others at the same time. And, we have lots of fun!

All you need to do is come. I will have the recipes and the ingredients at church, just waiting for your willing hands.
Please RSVP to me, abran3@aol.com or 813-810-1985.

Hope to see you Friday morning!
Jane Brannan

The Promises of God:  Leaning on the One who Keeps His Word
Following Worship, 11 am - Noon
in the Learning Center

The whole concept of “covenant” is foundational to understanding Scripture. Kim will lead us in a study of the seven covenants of God to His people throughout history. Each week a new promise of God will reveal to us His character, His love for us and how He interacts with us right now. Discover how you can trust and lean on the One who keeps his word. Led by Kim Brannan, Bible Study Teacher.

Thanks go out to the Elder Nominating Committee!

Many thanks to the Elder Nominating Committee who have served for two "terms": Jonathan Corbett, Nancy Corwin, Joe Gonzalez and Megan Bryant Leibl.

Kim Brannan was born and raised in Tampa. She made a decision to follow Christ and was baptized at eight years old in a Baptist congregation. Kim is grateful for her early spiritual education in the church and sees these as significant building blocks in her faith. She counts studying and teaching the Bible her primary spiritual gift. Kim joined HPPC in 1982 after falling hopelessly in love with John Brannan, whose family had been longtime active members. She and John were married for 33 years, and they raised three children at HPPC. After a difficult illness, John went to be with the Lord in 2017. Kim was ordained as an elder in the 1980s, and has served two previous terms on the Session. She is passionate about Christian education and how it can propel believers to walk more closely with the Lord day to day. She loves HPPC dearly and believes our future is bright.

Emily Cofrancesco grew up in Spartanburg, SC where she was a member at Nazareth Presbyterian Church. She moved to Tampa with her family in 2007 and joined First Presbyterian Church of Brandon where she participated in youth group and Vacation Bible School. She met Anthony Cofrancesco in college at the University of Central Florida and he moved to Tampa in 2018. Their first service at Hyde Park Presbyterian was the Christmas Pageant in 2018 and they became members in 2019 after receiving a warm welcome from all the current members. They were married at the church in 2020 and look forward to baptizing their children here. She is currently a wedding coordinator as well as serving on the Stewardship Committee. She works in the Human Resources department at a staffing agency and enjoys reading books and playing with her dog, Elise.

Mark Johnson is a 6th generation Floridian who has lived in Tampa since 1999. He became a member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in 2009 and has served previously on the Session. Mark went to school at Clemson University and works in the construction industry. He was a project manager on the Dali Museum and the RumFish Grill Restaurant on Concourse C at Tampa International Airport, appearing on the TV show Tanked. Mark enjoys cycling and running. Fun fact: he is the oldest son of an oldest son of an oldest son.

Brian Malek was born in New Jersey and moved to Ormond Beach, FL on his 7th birthday where he attended St. Paul's Catholic Church. He spent many years away from the church prior to joining Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville in 2015. He moved to Tampa with his family, Renee, Nicholas, and Stella, in 2017 and joined Hyde Park Presbyterian soon after. Brian currently leads the Data & Analytics team for a retail company headquartered in TN and enjoys reading, golf, and spending time with his family watching college football. He most recently teamed up with Reverend James to teach a class on what it is to be a part of the Reformed church.
