SCOSS proudly presents: 2022-2024 strategy
After months of analysis, and discussions, SCOSS is delighted to publish its strategy for the next three years. The strategy was based on a consultation with the community conducted in summer 2021 through a survey, one-to-one interviews, and focus groups. The community recognized the need for SCOSS’s existence as a source of support for Open Science Infrastructure for many years to come. We are thrilled to hear it and present the SCOSS 2022-2024 strategy to the research community.
The strategy outlines three primary goals for SCOSS for the coming years:
- Promote the sustainability of Open Science Infrastructure through funding and support
- Raise global awareness about the value of non-commercial Open Science Infrastructure through advocacy and connection building
- Build and maintain trust in Open Science Infrastructure through vetting and selection
The consultation also affirmed that the SCOSS model continues to be viable and generally well received. Another outcome is confirmation to continue in the general direction already laid down. This is the first SCOSS Strategy document so is an achievement in itself.
While the goals might sound familiar, SCOSS has also listed a number of new high-level initiatives that we are looking forward to developing in the future.
We would like to thank the research community for its engagement and for sharing experiences and thoughts on Open Science Infrastructure. They have informed the direction in which SCOSS will be heading.
Download the strategy document and join us for a webinar on 24 November to hear more about SCOSS’s future from the SCOSS Board.
