The Long View of Christmas
When God called Abraham to uproot his family from Haran (modern day Turkey) and start journeying to an unknown land God would show him, He also promised that He would make Abraham into a great Nation. Abraham’s obedient faith earned him a place in the Hebrews 11 Hall of Faith.
“A great nation,” sure Abraham believed, but could he even imagine the enormity of the impact his obedience would have thousands of years later in the little town of Bethlehem and further down the road to us in 2021.
God has a long view of Christmas. The Road from Haran to Bethlehem was a long one. It was a road filled with generations of sacrifices and challenges. God kept His Word even when His people didn’t keep theirs, and He worked His long view plan to make possible, salvation for humanity in the form of the Babe in Bethlehem’s Manger, shadowed by the Cross of Calvary. The Kingdom of God is ALREADY here.
Isaiah 9:6(NLT)
6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
With His long view of Christmas, God is still working His plan, reconciling the world to Himself through Jesus. Now as we celebrate the first coming of Jesus, we anticipate His second coming, when all things will be made right. We anticipate the Kingdom of God that is YET to come.
Romans 8:21 (NLT)…creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.
Isaiah 9:7a (NLT) His government and its peace will never end.

PASTOR GASTON & LUCY ECHEGUIA
Pastor Gaston and Lucy have been approved by Nazarene Global Missions as Sponsored Missionaries to Spain in the Eurasia Region. In early 2022, they will begin pastoring in Polígono Norte en Sevilla, Spain on a 2-year assignment.
Gaston and Lucy are the first Canadians to be approved as “Sponsored Missionaries”. A missionary serving through sponsored deployment is primarily funded by the local community and will serve a localized need in the field. Affirmed by the local church, district, and the Church of the Nazarene, he or she will serve a maximum of four years in the field with no previous ministry experience required.
We invite churches and individuals to support Pastor Gaston and Lucy through your prayers, by inviting them to speak at your church or at an online event, and by giving towards funding their mission to Spain. CLICK HERE for more information.

Thinking about trying out a course offered by the DMTC? Why not participate in the Introduction to New Testament course as an auditor?
Taking a course for audit means that you don’t have to complete the homework or assignments. This is a great way to benefit from great, in-depth Bible teaching. We are making the “Introduction to New Testament” course free for anyone who would like to participate as an auditor.
As always, DMTC courses are open for ordained ministers serving on Canada Central District for continuing education credit at no charge. No homework is required.
Please note: Those taking courses for ordination credit must pay all fees and complete all homework and assignments.
