2. IP500 ECO System providing Planners, System Integrators, Installers with new opportunities

The current pilot projects in Freiburg, Germany and New Delhi, India demonstrate the technological progress and installation of the IP500 ECO System in large commercial buildings.
These installations demonstrate the capabilities of the IP500 ECO System and its performance at the RF and infrastructure level with large objects, which usually pose big challenges, such as RF interference, range, and scalability issues.

The IP500 Alliance is in the process to set up an additional P500 Demo Rooms around the world, incl. Germany, Switzerland, India, and South America.
Therefore, the IP500 Alliance invites Planers, System Integrators, and Installers of IoT / electrical solutions to experience a live demo of the IP500 ECO System and invite them to join the IP500 “Construction Community”. This will enable them to offer their clients (building owners and end-users) new and groundbreaking IoT solutions, focusing on increasing security, reducing power consumption, and enabling innovative assets tracking solutions.
The demo rooms will be presented at the IP500 workshops, see details below.
Please contact the IP500 office for more information: office@ip500alliance.org

3. VdS 3448 – Fire Detection Guideline

In cooperation with the VdS fire division, the IP500 Alliance submitted its inputs for the first draft of a new VdS3448 Guideline for wireless connectivity. The IP500 Alliance and VdS are now working on a final version. In anticipation of thisopportunity, all IP500 Members and Partners are invited to participate in this process, which will provide a base to plan the integration of the IP500 / CN200 Module  in the next generation of  fire detection products (detectors) and systems.
The next milestones of this process are:

  • Finalize first draft by Nov. 2021
  • Send the draft for comments, by VdS in Dec 21 – Feb. 2022
  • Ratify the new version VdS3448new, planed in Q2 2022

Please contact the IP500 office for more information: office@ip500alliance.org

4. Microchip IP500 IoT-Development Board

Microchip has announced their intention to provide their IoT-Development Board with the IP500 / CNX200 Module. The IoT-Development Board is the main development platform of Microchip. It supports all major wireless IoT standards, like WiFi, Bluetooth. The Microchip P500 IoT-Development Board will enable IP500 Members to use the entire tools portfolio of Microchip. Specifically, using this dev-tool will shorten the development time and resources for IP500 Members, who already use Microchip products.
Please contact the IP500 office for more information: office@ip500alliance.org for availability of the Microchip IP500 IoT-Development Board.

5. IP500 Pilot Projects

The IP500 Projects in Germany, India and Poland have made good progress and the responsible IP500 partners, including planners, system integrators and OEMs are working on the IP500 solutions for these projects. There are also projects underway in LATAM (Panama and Bogota). Due to the interoperability and worldwide certification of the IP500 Standard, these projects will generate a significantly high demand for IOT OEM products for retrofit installations and new constructions.

The project in Freiburg, Germany is a typical mid-size office building in combination with apartments. The main applications in this project are – door & window (including blinds) control – lighting – and energy optimization. The installation of the IP500 infrastructure and products will take place at the end of 2021 / beginning of 2022.

The WTC (Worlde Trade Center) in New Delhi is one of the largest buildings in India with over 1 million square feet (approximately 800.000 square metres) of commercial space. The IP500 infrastructure is established within the tender and has generated many opportunities for OEM products to be connected to the IP500 network. In total, over 20.000 sensors and actors are expected to be installed.

Sensfix, a partner of the IP500, has made good progress on their project to build an exciting IOT connected factory. Several IP500 OEMs have already designed their solution into the system design of the target applications.
