Many of you have been following me during my career at BioWare. Others have joined me through my blogging about game design tips and insider's insight after I finished my work on Dragon Age: Origins. Still others joined me on my journey after I won the Writers of the Future Contest (or discovered me via my short fiction).

Whatever the case may be, it has always been a pleasure to connect with all of you.

Big changes are afoot in my life. The Kickstarter for Raiders of the Serpent Sea has funded (and surging in these final 48 hours as backers grab exclusive content) and I have the ambitious and exciting task of building what I hope will be remembered as an all-time favorite sourcebook for the fifth edition of the world's greatest roleplaying game. For this game I have played and loved all my life.

But this work in the Serpent Sea is just the beginning (or more accurately... perhaps the continuation of the beginning?)

As we move forward in the coming months, I will begin to explain how the setting of Raiders is more deeply connected into the personal mythology I have been building in many of my fantasy short stories throughout the years. It has been no secret that these stories themselves were sometimes connected, but I intend to reveal how they are also connected to this setting. And I intend to write new stories set in the Serpent Sea -- and possibly bring other writer friends along as well. So not only is this a roleplaying book, it is a setting. And one I intend to fill with lush stories.

And down the road: more adventure content for 5e, and more interactive experiences -- perhaps a digital way to organize and participate in a 5e campaign, perhaps an actual videogame.

We will see where interest (and funding) pushes me.

Until then I will continue to serialize and update the Lazy Designer series here and I will keep you up to date.
I appreciate having all of you along for this journey. Sincerely.

See you on the Serpent Sea!
