Queen’s 70th (Platinum) Jubilee Funding Programme launched

To mark Her Majesty the Queen’s 70th Jubilee, The National Lottery Community Fund will make funding available to 70 projects across the UK. This is a significant National moment, and we are looking for projects that go beyond simply celebrating it.

Integrated Care System - Place based information sessions taking place in December

These place based sessions will provide an update on recent and upcoming developments of Birmingham and Solihull’s Integrated Care System, which will become a statutory body from April 2022. Discuss the purpose and aims of the placed-based alliances, and the important role of embedding the VCFSE sector into the ICS.

Stronger Communities Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund open for applications

Birmingham City Council, through BVSC, want to commission a number of projects that will support the legacy that the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will offer the city. The Stronger Communities’ Commonwealth Games (CWG) Fund has been set up to support a number of activities that will form a key part of this legacy. Deadline for applications: 30 November.

Using Compassionate Communities to make Birmingham a Compassionate City

A city wide collaborative group has been established to implement Compassionate City Charter status.  To ensure all aspects of the city are involved people are being invited to take part in a development programme hosted by Compassionate Community UK’s Director Julian Abel.  Anyone who is involved in formal or informal networks which could further the aims of Birmingham as a Compassionate City will be considered.

Versus Arthritis - Rheumatology Services Survey

Versus Arthritis, working in partnership with healthcare providers, are running a public survey to help them better understand people’s experiences of using rheumatology services (all age groups) across Birmingham and Solihull over the past three years.

Birmingham City Centre Public Space Protection Order Consultation

Anti-social behaviour in and around the City Centre of Birmingham is causing significant concerns for local residents, businesses as well as those visiting the City and surrounding areas. As part of the partnership approach towards tackling the issues, it has been decided to apply for a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).

Emergency Essentials Programme

In response to the pandemic, BBC Children in Need are expanding their Emergency Essentials programme to include a broader range of basic essentials to support children and young people living with severe poverty across the UK. Applications must come through a registered referral agency that is supporting the family or young person. The programme is delivered by Family Fund Business Services. Applications can be made at any time.

The David East Fund

The David East Fund has been established to support organisations in Birmingham tackling disadvantage through community initiatives. Applications must meet one of the following aims: support local community activity addressing homelessness; support families living in disadvantage; or support general community activity, making a difference to people’s lives.

Celebrating Communities Fund

There's still time to unveil your community’s beating heart with a new council fund created to help people celebrate the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Celebrating Communities Small Grants Funding Scheme has been assembled by Birmingham City Council to maximise the benefit and legacy of being the Proud Host City for the Games. Grants will be available to run initiatives which deliver against one of three themes: ‘Get Active’, ‘Ready, Steady, Fun’ and ‘Celebrating Culture’. The deadline for Round Two applications is 30 November 2021.

Alpkit Foundation (UK)

The Alpkit Foundation are prioritising funding to support projects that demonstrate an immediate impact on those affected by the crisis. Grants are available to grassroots organisations serving those affected by the outbreak. Funding can provide support for activities which might include helping vulnerable and elderly people who are self-isolating, supporting the homeless, providing access to food, medicines or social care, supporting foodbanks, increasing the number of meals on wheels deliveries, and bringing exercise indoors. Applications can be made at any time and will be checked on a daily basis.
