If you do one thing this week... Suddenly Web 3.0 is a thing. This thread of 10 free resources on the topic contains some excellent links including (good) articles entitled 'What is Web 3.0', 'Why decentralisation matters', a video channel and podcasts with explainers on Blockchain and Crypto, and lists of crypto resources. Really useful.

Links of the Week...
  • Dentsu have released a 2022 Media Trends report featuring 3 megatrends (the prolonged pandemic, brand citizenship, and identity), each with a bunch of smaller associated trends. Free to download here
  • Thread of the week goes to these George Monbiot points about creating social movements and change (notably around climate change).
  • 'I see a growing disconnect in our industry between companies wanting to hire the most talented people, and the experience the most talented people I know have during the interview process'. Andy Budd's thoughts on how companies mistake experience for skillset are also worth a read
  • Constitution DAO is a project to buy the US Constitution. Or rather one of thirteen surviving copies of the Official Edition from the Constitutional Convention. It's the first time for 33 years that a copy has come up for sale and the crowdsourced proceeds from the auction will go to charity and the copy of the Constitution will be displayed openly for the public
  • This week I wrote about flawed data-driven decision-making and a story from World War One
  • The folk at (friends of ODF) Storythings have commissioned a great set of writers from across the globe to create original pieces of short fiction set in 2031, as a celebration of their business becoming a decade old. Themes cover digital identity, AI, work and more. Nicely done.
  • Wow. Possibly the most creatively bonkers TikTok of all time (HT@BBHLabs)
And finally...Ha. Probably the best letter ever written (HT @bmay)
Weeknotes: This week I've been doing overnight workshops (I need to get a life) with leadership teams at Hong Kong transport operator MTR and BUPA. Next week I'm doing more MTR-ing and also doing a session for Hyper Island with a Norwegian renewable energy business. I'm also taking Friday off for long weekend away and I CANNOT WAIT.

If you're interested in finding out more about my virtual workshops, consultancy, or you'd like me to talk (virtually or IRL) to your team do drop me a note.

Want to find out how I can help you or your business? Let's talk.
