Describing the past year necessitates several adjectives: exciting, progressive, busy and optimistic to name a few. The employees of Boone County Family Resources (BCFR) met every challenge and continued providing quality services to persons served and their families. The Board of Directors provided their guidance, leadership and foresight as usual, during this most unusual year.

Supported Living enjoys Fall Festivities
Thanks to the Columbia Elks Lodge #594, the Supported Living sites enjoyed a scrumptious BBQ in September and a spooky Halloween Trunk or Treat in October. Both events were made possible by the Elks Lodge Beacon Grant.
IPS Leads to a Successful Transition for Brittany
After Brittany lost her job at Compass Health, she wasn’t sure she would find another job that suited her needs. With the help of her IPS team, Brittany found a position at Parentlink in less than one month.
The Individual Placement and Support program, or IPS, is a zero-exclusion, evidence-based practice that helps people with disabilities find a job of their choice with rapid job search and placement services.

Jackson Attends ICAN Bike Camp
ICan Bike Camp is a week-long program that gives people with disabilities the experience of independently riding a conventional two-wheel bicycle. Open to ages 8 and up in the summer in Fulton, Mo. Jackson attended camp this past summer through Boone County Family Resources and had a blast!
